Not So Funny:F

So, about four years ago I wrote a wierd and introspective poem (I took poetry while in University so I could become an accountant one day) about the connection of Britney Spears to Kurt Cobain. They both had/have a stranglehold on the attention of the country's young people. They had followings that are as loyal as family. They both loved and yearned for a fame that ultimately they came hate.

Now, as Britney is a little over a month in to her 26th year, she is in lots of personal distress. Sure, we all laughed when we saw Chris Crocker crying on Youtube, but now, we may see his point. If Britney is eating from a Silver Spoon, it will either be in rehab, or alone, without her children, family, or many old friends. She has been heavily warned about substance abuse issues, and may never have custody over her kids again.

Kurt lost a lot of things. Self respect. Dignity. Privacy. And in losing those things to his popularity, money, prestige, and hidden life, he lost it. Drugs became his only outlet until suicide. He was just 27. You can see Gus Van Sant's ideas on His Last Days in the feature film so titled.

I have to blame our society a little, the celebs themselves a little, and the papparazzi a little. It's nobody's entire fault, but it is scary. And, I hope, really do, that Spears can live well past 26, and in to a (more) normal (clean and sober) adult life with her kids, friends and family. Hopefully, Chris Crocker and I will be wrong on this one.

Stop the Papparazzi (legally), Help Hollywood Stay Sober (enforce laws at Hollywood nightclubs, and other hotspots), and Help these People who are destroying themselves.

One way to help, YOU should stop buying junk like US Weekly, Star Magazine, and OK. They'll take creative license, but understand these people, and supporting them, will kill these young celebrities.

Hollywood Fame: F- (It's so dangerous. She got fame she wanted, and now it's eating her alive, just like it did Kurt Cobain).
